The Department of Dance at University California, Riverside is searching for a lecturer to teach Dance 132: “Dance, Citizenship, Location,” in winter quarter 2008. This upper-division undergraduate course designed for dance majors "Explores interconnections between dancing bodies, their geographical, political, cultural locations, and the ways in which they negotiate inclusion or exclusion within state apparatuses of power such as citizenship."
Responsibilities: Candidate will teach one course, which meets twice weekly, for the Winter quarter of Academic Year 2007-08. Course is scheduled to meet Tuesdays and Thursdays from 12:40 to 2:00 p.m.
Salary: This is a 33% lecturer position, paying a total of $4,628
Start Date: Position will begin Jan 1, 2008.
End Date: Position ends March, 22 2008.
Qualifications: The successful candidate must have a terminal degree (MFA or Ph.D.) in Dance Studies or a related field, and at least one year of teaching experience in college or university environments.
