Susan Rose was the Artistic Director of DANCEWORKS, a ten-member company in Boston that toured extensively throughout New England and New York from 1976 to 1989. In 1990, she returned to Southern California to join the faculty of the Department of Dance at UC Riverside. Recently she has regrouped to form Susan Rose and Dancers. She has served as guest choreographer for the Lewitzky Co. creating two new works for the company repertory: “Displacements” was performed at the Kennedy Center and UCLA, and “Tail Tale Signs” premiered at Occidental College in Los Angeles.
Her work has also been performed at Highways, Dance Kaleidoscope, and as part of the In-The-Works series produced by the Dance Gallery. She has received grants from the National Endowment for the Arts and from the Massachusetts Council for the Arts.
